On December 30, Zhang Xu, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in the Maldives, and Atheef, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Environment of the Maldives, jointly attended the land handover ceremony for the Fujian-aided Hulhumale Nursery Project. Representatives from China Harbour Engineering Company's South Asia region and the Maldives Housing Development Company also participated.

This project is funded by Fujian Province, China, and undertaken by China Harbour Engineering Company Limited. The project will strongly support the Maldives in moving towards its goal of “Planting Five Million Trees”，to make a positive contribution to further promoting the development of bilateral relations.
