In his speech, Ambassador Wang conveyed his warm welcome to the 2nd visit of the ensemble since last year. He stressed their contribution to people-to-people exchanges between China and Maldives, showcase of the spirit of Silk Road featuring exchange and learning from each other and inevitability of pushing forward China-Maldives Future-oriented All-round Friendly and Cooperative Partnership.
Minister Iruthisham Adam stated that China was one of the closest and the most important developmental partner of Maldives. China offered many help and support in various areas. Thank Chinese Embassy and Tianjin Administration of Culture, Radio, Film and Television for hosting this performance. She believed that it would further promote the bilateral relations.
The performance included erhu solo, dulcimer solo, sheng solo, flute solo, trio of guzheng, pipa and xiao , pluck instrumental ensemble, and other form of musical expression, altogether 17 melodies, displaying the essence of traditional Chinese instrument.
The opening melody "Jubilance" manifested people's joy and optimistic mental attitude, igniting the audience emotion at once. "The Moon Over a Fountain", a classic Chinese melody, sounded as if weeping and complaining, whose tune was sometimes hurried and sometimes leisurely, leading the audience to a poetic image featuring cold fountain and clear moon. "A Night of Flowers and Moonlight by the Spring River" displayed the beauty of the night of spring, featuring swaying shadow of flowers and tranquil river, to the audience. "Deep into the Night" combined sonorous roll of drum with spirited tune, in a vigorous style, bringing the atmosphere at the spot to high. The performance concluded in the atmosphere of hotness and joy. It was the beginning of the end. Their exquisite skills received thunderous applaud.
