On October 26, Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives H.E. Kong Xianhua visited the team of Voice, a major Maldivian media outlet.

Ambassador Kong said that the media serves as an important bridge for communicating public sentiment and enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries. China stands ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Maldivian media outlets and present a true, multi-dimensional and comprehensive picture of China to the Maldivian public through more diverse and engaging forms of communication, bringing the peoples of the two countries closer together. The year 2027 will mark the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Maldives. He expressed the hope that media outlets from both countries, particularly young media professionals, would actively participate in China-Maldives friendship exchanges and bring to light more compelling stories of the two countries' friendly interactions and practical cooperation, injecting fresh impetus into the continued development of bilateral relations and the deepening of China-Maldives friendship and cooperation.

The head of Voice team thanked the Chinese side for the learning and exchange opportunities it has provided to Maldivian media over the years, and expressed the team's willingness to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China in areas such as media personnel training, historical storytelling, cultural exhibitions and the promotion of cooperation projects, with a view to deepening media exchanges and people-to-people interactions between the two countries.
