On September 24, the Chinese Embassy in the Maldives held a reception celebrating the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the Mid-Autumn Festival. President of the Maldives Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and the First Lady, cabinet ministers, members of Parliament, friends from various sectors, MPs, as well as representatives of Chinese enterprises and the Chinese community in the Maldives, nearly 230 guests in total, attended the reception.

Ambassador Kong Xianhua introduced China’s major achievements in high-quality development in the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, as well as the achievements of China-Maldives cooperation in various fields. He said that China stands ready to work with the Maldives and other countries to uphold the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity, implement the four global initiatives, and promote the building of a better world.

President Muizzu extended National Day greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Chinese Government and the Chinese people. He spoke highly of China’s development achievements, China-Maldives relations and China’s contribution to the world, and expressed the hope that the Maldives and China would work together to build a more peaceful, stable and prosperous world.

The reception was held in a grand, warm and festive atmosphere. Guests spoke highly of China’s development achievements and expressed their best wishes for China-Maldives relations.
