On September 28, H.E. Kong Xianhua, Ambassador of China to the Maldives, was invited to attend the Fourth Anniversary Celebration and Mid-Autumn Cultural Experience Event organized by the Chinese Language Center at Villa College. Nearly 400 guests, including the Director of the Maldives National Library, leaders of Villa College, Maldivian students learning Chinese, and members of the local Chinese community, attended the event.

The Chinese Language Center reviewed its work and achievements in the Maldives over the past four years. Teachers, volunteers and Maldivian students presented a variety of performances, including dances, a guzheng solo, Sichuan Opera face-changing, and recitations of Chinese poetry. Participants also enthusiastically took part in cultural activities such as making mooncakes and practicing Chinese calligraphy. Ambassador Kong warmly interacted with guests, creating a lively and friendly atmosphere.

Ambassador Kong congratulated the Chinese Language Center on its fourth anniversary. He noted that, as President Xi Jinping has said, language is a tool for exchanging ideas, a vehicle for passing on civilization, and a bridge that promotes mutual understanding. Chinese language educators have continued their dedicated efforts in the Maldives to promote Chinese-language education and introduce Chinese culture. He expressed hope that young people of China and the Maldives will use language as a bridge to enhance mutual understanding and contribute to building a China-Maldives community with a shared future.
